HDPE

High density Polyethylene (HDPE) is a general engineering plastic which has no specified application of special abilities.

HDPE machines fairly well but the end product may need heavily deburring after the process.

The material has a low coefficient of friction and has some resistance to abrasive wear, but it is not suitable to environments where high or impact loading is likely.

An example application of HDPE would be a low load roller bearing.

Adhesion of HDPE is incredibly difficult and even with specialist adhesives, the success rate is low.
